Après des études de mythologie comparée, vous avez consacré votre thèse au spiritisme. Pourquoi cet intérêt pour le paranormal ? / After studies in comparative mythology, you dedicated your doctoral thesis to spiritism. Where does this interest for the paranormal come from?
Ma grand-mère pratiquait le spiritisme. Mon grand-père l’a quittée quand il a appris qu’elle le trompait avec le fantôme de Saint Augustin. / My grand-mother used to do spiritism. My grand-father left her when he found out that he was cheating on her with the ghost of St Augustin.

Vous avez créé, en 1967, une chaire de parapsychologie à l’université d’Istanbul. Quelles ont été les réactions de vos collègues ? / In 1967 you created a chair in parapsychology at the University of Istanbul. What was the response of your fellow faculty members?
Ils ont arrêté de me parler du jour au lendemain. Je me suis senti tellement seul que j’ai du prendre un abonnement au National Geographic. / They have stopped talking to me just like that. I was feeling so lonely that I had to subscribe to the National Geographic.

Et c’est à ce moment là que vous avez reçu une lettre de menace de la part d’un très célèbre intellectuel français… / And at this point you received a threat letter written by a well-known French intellectual…
Oui, Jean-Paul Sartre et moi-meme avons toujours eu des divergences ontologiques sur la question de la cuisson des pommes au four. / Yes, Jean-Paul Sartre and I had opposite metaphysical views on the matter of apple pie cooking.

Au fait, il parait que vous avez appris des services secrets turcs qui a tué John Fitzgerald Kennedy ? / By the way, is it a fact that you have learnt from the Turkish secret services who killed John Fitzgerald Kennedy?
Oui. J’avoue que j’en ai été le premier surpris. En fait, il s’agit d’un suicide. / Yes. I must admit I was the first to be surprised. As a matter of fact, it was a suicide.

??!! Cela parait incroyable. / ??!! It seems unbelievable.
Et pourtant c’est la vérité. J’ai révélé ses motivations dans un article intitulé : « JKF et le complot des francs-maçons unijambistes. » / And yet this is the truth. I revealed his inner motivation in an article called “JFK and the one-legged freemasons’ conspiracy”.

Vous avez publié en 1975 un essai percutant sur les vibrations primordiales contenues dans les particules subatomiques. Comment résumeriez-vous votre théorie à un public non averti ? / You published in 1975 a very striking essay on the primordial vibrations that are part of the subatomic particles. How would you sum up your theory to a general audience?
